Carve a jack-o’-lantern and save the squishy remains for this fur-raisingly good recipe from Dr. Ernie Ward. Happy Howl-o-ween!

Pumpkin Rescue Meatballs
You'll need:
1 lb. ground turkey
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup parsley (chopped)
1/4 cup ground oats or oat flour (optional)
1 egg

To make this recipe:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and blend. Cover a baking sheet with wax paper. Roll dough into meatballs and place about 1/2 inch apart. Bake for 15 minutes or until they start to brown slightly on the top. Cool and serve. Freeze leftover portions if you are not using in the next few days.

Remember to keep treats to less than 10% of your pet’s caloric intake to keep them in tip-top shape! Check with your veterinarian before trying a new recipe for your pet, to ensure your efforts – and your furry friends! – are appropriately rewarded.
